This is actually more like a patch for 2.0. Nothing major.

A lot people hate it when update is released every week, but on the positive side, Member Speed Tech is working hard to get the software better everyday.

Plus, this update is this simple: here is  how:

1/ change  .htaccess to 777

2/ upload core, run command:  Yourdomain.com/install_update/install.php

3/ upload the following plugins, NO NEED to run install:

Yourdomain.com/plugins/article
Yourdomain.com/plugins/jv_zone
Yourdomain.com/plugins/link_tracking
Yourdomain.com/plugins/product_manager
Yourdomain.com/plugins/review_management

4/ Upload and run command for shopping cart 2.2

Yourdomain.com/plugins/shopping_cart/install_update/install.php

 Done!!

 Released the Shopping Cart Manager plugin with V2.0

- Released the RSS Feed Manager plugin with V2.0

- Added functionality for instant overview of pending testimonials, articles, customer queries, audios,videos, products, JV Offers, member to member offers, reviews, and review comments from a single page. Link is added below the ‘You are logged in as adminname’ area at admin panel end. Note If any plugin is not installed or inactive corresponding module pending list will not be visible on the instant overview page.

- Added functionality to make your any page as your site Home page. A page can be set as the Home page from your navigation management modify link area for all pages.

- Bug fixing for phpBB version 2.0 and integration with phpBB version 3.0.

- Added folder protection functionality, so the outside world can not view your directory listings of your site folders.

- Added new functionality to Import members through txt or csv file under a particular membership Functionality available under Member Management => Import Members section.

- Added separate registration form, OTO forms, event mailers functionality per membership level. This can be changed from Member Management => Membership configuration. Please note if you want to create separate member area upgrade pages (not OTOs) you can do so from the Navigation Managment Module => create a new page => add it to your site under the appropriate top menu category.

- Added New functionality for mail notification to admin on new testimonial submission from user end. Admin can configure whether you want to recieve notification mails or not on testimonial submissions, configuration can be done from the Testimonial Management -> Configuration -> Mail Notification Configuration section.

- Added functionlity to reflect updated membership value in member area after payment has been made.

- Added New functionlity for versioning system to know what version of core and plugins are installed at your system. Go under System COnfiguration ==> Edit Modules and you’ll see which version you have for the Core and all plugins installed.

- Added a default Sender Name in all event emailers through system variables. Also added in the merge fields. This will show as the From name on all emails sent from your site.

- Removed hardcoded white bgcolor for the testimonial module.

- Added an upgraded version of the media player for better streaming of video and audio files.

- Fixed the Thanks Button value of hte OTO Page (which were not coming dynnamically).

- Fixed VARContactUsInstructions modifcation issue (which were not modified propely in previous versions). Message that appears after a customer query, this can be modified from the Inbox Module -> Configuration -> Click Here To Modify Event Messages section.

- Enhancement in slug field for the whole application where it was required, modification done in the database as well as in forms control.

- Enhanced in logs and reports section in mail sending. Payment transactions can noew be better modified and searched on from your admin panel.

- Removed the duplicate banner title check in banner management from add & modify page.

- Removed the FAQ issue where inactive faq categories were beign displayed.

- Fixed the Sponsor field bug from member search form(Sponsor field was not taking the name).

- Added enhanced templates, can be downloaded from http://memberspeed.com member template area.

- Removed expiry date issue after payment for trial period.

MemberSpeed 2.0 is out today.
Two new plugins: Shopping cart ( beta ) and Rss Feed Manager

I was hopping to see the anytime, anywhere OTO feature but it’s not added in this version.

There is however a new change in Membership Mananger / Member Configuration.

Now each membership level can have its own sign up form and OTO.

Shopping cart is called beta at this moment. There is no coupon code. Only flat shipping.

Tech is planning to work on it to a full scale the next couple months.

So if you find something, wanted feature…be sure to submit it to them.

Another important feature that everybody wanted yesterday: Product releases in sequence, no matter when a new member signed up.

This is probably have to wait until version 3. Please vote for it.

So here is the step:

1/ Do a backup of your existing site. ( for basic how to do backup please log into the members area and view tutorial 13 )
2/ Download Zend or Ioncube
3/ Extract and upload files via FTP, in BINARY MODE
4/ Change permission of .htaccess to 777
5/ Copy the following commands to your browser and hit GO to install

6/ Delete all Install Update folders after finished installation

Testing and error:

I tested Shopping cart and RSS feed. Found a couple issues with Shopping Cart.

The biggy is order is not shownn in buyer’s Order History, therefore buyer can’t get access to purchased products.

Do you have the same problem?

Update : the patch 2.1 has just been released today 02/14/08. This fixed the above issue. Yay!!!!

As of now- version 1.91, memberspeed has 20 level of membership available in Member Management Module.

The lowest one is a Free level being as 20 in the hierachy tree.

The highest one is 1 in the hierachy tree.

You can set different commission scheme for each level.

Here is how:

1/ Go to Affiliate module

Click on Commission Scheme==> Create a new Scheme

Type in your commission value

Save.

2/ Go to Member Management Module

Click on Membership Configuration===> Commission Scheme

Assign the scheme you created earlier  to a membership level

 That’s it!

Note: If you don’t  want to give affiliate a commission on a particular membership level, just don’t associate it with any commission scheme.
